Putangirua Pinnacles

The morning started off alright and by that I mean, everyone woke up on time... We went to go pick up the rental cars at the airport because according to the website that’s where it was located. Got to the airport, no car place. We got a cab and took it to the correct location, which happened to be literally 2 BLOCKS from our apartment. As we stepped out of the car the cab’s window shattered all over the side walk. No pole to hit or anything, just opened the door and it broke so we agreed to be witnesses for our very nice cab driver and she even gave us our fare back!

When we got back to the car rental place we found out that the lady on the phone quoted us wrong so the lady in the office gave us our second day free for both cars!

We headed back to the Cube and gathered the rest of team America. It was a quick hour and 20 minute drive and we were already there. We took about a 4 hour walk though and around the pinnacles. They were amazing. So tall and unreal looking. These pinnacles were also used in Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. Now I just need at actually see LotR since I’ve been to about 3 filming locations so far. haha

That night we set up camp and checked out the nearby beach and watched the sun set behind the water. Very beautiful. That night we sat around our campfire and played with lasers, headlamps, and looked at the bajillion stars in the sky. So weird looking up and not seeing the big dipper but a bunch of new constellations.
